Experience Kingston's Electrifying "Season of Excitement," Highlighted by Grand Slam Track™'s Historic Debut Slam, April 4–6
New York, NY (April 1, 2025) - Grand Slam Track™, the global home of professional track competition launched by four-time Olympic Champion Michael Johnson, and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) are thrilled to announce their partnership bringing the inaugural Grand Slam Track™ event to Kingston this spring. This partnership was secured with assistance from Grand Slam Track™’s exclusive sales agency, Team Playmaker. The JTB is also extending an invitation to visitors worldwide to immerse themselves in Kingston's vibrant "Season of Excitement,” which features a lineup of major sporting and cultural events set to deliver an exciting season filled with world class athletics and entertainment.

Partnering with the JTB allows us to create a first class experience for the thousands of fans who will travel from across the globe to visit Kingston and celebrate the official start of Grand Slam Track™ with us.”
Kingston will host the first of four highly anticipated Slams, showcasing the world’s fastest athletes. Fans in attendance will witness speed and skill from Olympians and World Champions like Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas, Masai Russell, Josh Kerr, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse, Kenny Bednarek, and many others. The competitors will race twice across three days in a battle for glory, competing for the largest prize money pool ever offered in the sport.

After the races, we encourage visitors to delve into the rich tapestry of Jamaican culture through exploration of our vibrant music, delectable cuisine, natural attractions, and renowned warmth and hospitality.”
Kingston, known as the cultural and sporting hub of Jamaica, is offering a unique blend of competition, celebration, and local charm for visitors this spring with events including ISSA Boys and Girls Championships (March 25–29), Grand Slam Track™ (April 4–6), and Carnival in Jamaica (April 21–28), setting the city abuzz with excitement.

About Michael Johnson
Born in Dallas, Texas, Michael Johnson is a Hall of Fame track and field star, universally recognized as one of the greatest sprinters of all time. He won four Olympic gold medals and eight World Championships across his career, and held world and Olympic records in both the 200m and 400m races. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Johnson became the first and only male athlete to win the Gold medal in both the 200m and 400m at the same Olympics. Since retiring from active competition, Johnson has become a serial entrepreneur and investor, as well as highly sought after performance mindset speaker and an award winning television commentator. Johnson has been a pundit for the BBC’s coverage of every Olympics Games since Athens 2004, and remains a key voice on, and advocate for the sport.
