There are athletes who want to be in the fastest paced races and there are athletes who want to race the fastest people. Luis Grijalva is the latter. He CAN run fast — we know that! Luis’ 5000m personal best of 12:50 proves that. But the opportunity to get rid of rabbits and run in eight championship races… now THAT is where he thrives.

Grijalva’s family emigrated from Guatemala to California where he spent his childhood. He defined what it meant to be a dreamer and after an All-American career at Northern Arizona University, he has since represented his family’s home country in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. He has rewritten Guatemala’s record books with multiple national records across all distances. Now Grijalva will be the nation’s first Grand Slam Track Racer.
