About
Every time Matthew Hudson-Smith raises his ceiling, he finds a new way to burst through it. A slow and steady progression will take an athlete far, but a fast and rapid progression that never ends is even better! Sort of like a good race strategy.
At this point in his career, it is now fair to call the Olympic silver medalist at 400 meters a veteran, and he has earned enough hardware to prove it. The Brit’s reign of success at the European Championships is historic, as was his taking down the longstanding continental record. But the crowning achievement is his five global championship podiums.
Like all one lappers, Hudson-Smith gets his own lane and stays in it – running his own race and blocking out the noise of those sprinting next to him. He runs with a freedom of only seeing his own steps in front of him, and an attitude that dares others to try and keep pace. They rarely do.
