If an athlete just keeps improving, then eventually the field will narrow. This is the story of Jess Hull — she keeps progressing and the list of her competitors keeps shrinking. The Australian middle distance star let the world know she had leveled up when she dropped almost seven seconds from her personal best to CRUSH a surprising 3:50 1500m earlier this spring.
Not dad though — he wasn’t surprised because he’s coach! And he has also been watching the silky smooth stride rise up the ranks for years.
But after the season Hull had already put together, which included a world record over 2000m, there were no more surprises when Hull earned the Olympic silver medal in Paris. The former University of Oregon Duck has proven that one of her greatest strengths is her range, with an ability to excel in any distance from 800 through cross country. And with great range comes great difficulty beating her!
