About

It’s not about how you start – it’s how you finish. And few athletes in the world close as well as Muzala Samukonga does. The first Grand Slam Track Racer from Africa to sign with the league is the pride of Zambia. After winning a bronze medal in the 400m at the Paris Olympics, the 21 year old has proven his ability as the bright young star in the event.

Samukonga first proved his merit at the 2022 Commonwealth Games where his miraculous come from behind finish surprised everyone, and most of all the other athletes. With a personal best of 43.74 and a notably late surge on every home stretch, the race is never over until the tape breaks.

Chart out the progression of Muzala these past few years and you will understand the buzz and excitement – if he is THIS fast today, then just wait for tomorrow. That trajectory is steep! And if his improvement is anything like his race strategy, there is still gas left in the tank.
