About

Masai Russell had some close finishes throughout her career at the University of Kentucky. Though in her rookie season as a professional – when it mattered most – Masai timed her lean perfectly to win the Olympic gold medal in the 100 meter hurdles.

Watching Masai race is to know just one side of her. Her intensity and competitiveness shine through as she attacks each hurdle gaining speed off every one. But find her off the track and the lip syncing and dances that have made her a fan favorite to follow tell a completely different story. Isn’t that what being a hurdler is all about? Staying dynamic and keeping people on their toes!

Russell was always a standout from a young age since attending Bullis School in Maryland where she collected eight national titles. This is a Racer who always dreamed of being the best in the world and now that has been actualized. And at Grand Slam Track, she is going to be facing off against a cohort of athletes who believe that title belongs to them.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Except Masai Russell is never one to hide from a challenge.
